Subject: I am OK. Do not worry.

Hello...At Peace Corps' request, I have arrived in Abidjan today.  Looks to me like most of the other Volunteers are here too.  Rumors abound as to whether we will remain here or be moved to Ghana.  When I left my site this morning I was sure I would be back shortly.  Now that I am here, I am not as sure.

I will keep you posted as it is possible.

Taabo has been calm and unaffected by the problems.  I have felt completely safe, and many locals have stopped by to make sure that I am OK.  Do not worry about me... but pray for a quick end to the coup attempt.  Many locals are worried about their relatives in Bouake and Korhogo.

I think www.BBC.co.uk is giving good and accurate information if you want to keep updated.

Will reply to emails as soon as I can.  Pls forward to others I missed.  Special note to Claudia - sorry...my battery died last night.  Oops!

My number is 225-07-52-17-59 if you want to call.  Remember that I am in a developing country, and sometimes service isn't working well.

Love!  ...Kate
